Training Description:

  • January - Tips and talk about getting the best performance out of your HT
  • February -  Message handling is a very important skill.  We will have a short presentation and then an on the air practice session using ICS-213 forms.
  • March - An introduction to Winlink, mode and settings ( this is a prep for the Red Cross May 8 drill)
  • April -    A review of the NWS Spring Meeting, Continuation of Winlink Basics - Sending a form.
  • May -  How to get the best out of your Fox Hunt, HT simplex exercise
  • June - Direction finding exercise - fox hunt exercise using teams in Randle Wicks park
  • July - N/A
  • August - Movie and picnic night, For the picnic, please bring a dish to pass and a chair for the movie
  • September - We will discuss the October SET which will revolve around more traffic handling to the State EOC. Local options discussed. Radiogram simplex exercise.
  • October -  Project Night - Ever needed to connect your radio with Anderson PowerPole connectors to a power supply? We will build a bare wire-to-PowerPole cable to connect to your power supply. (** There will be a $2.00 charge for materials for this project)
  • November - Project Night - build a simple PowerPole polarity tester for your go kit. (** There will be a $2.00 charge for materials for this project)
  • December - Annual joint breakfast with SVARA, Daniel's Grill, 100 S. Michigan at Court St.

Directions: (from North or South)
Exit I-75 at E. Holland Ave (M-46) and travel East to N. Towerline Road.  Turn left
and travel North to Janes Road.  Turn right and travel East.  The airport will be on
your left.  Enter the main entrance.  The Pilots Lounge is located in the large hanger
building.
